Presley

The moment we saw Presley and she chose to follow our male greyhound Darby (formerly Bearcreek Boss) through the yard instead of the 10 plus other hounds, we knew we would be welcoming her to her forever home with us. Although she came to us ragged and worn, she warmed our hearts with her never-ending kisses. She immediately became the Alpha Dog and ruled the house until the day she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She told us when to wake up, when to eat, when to be quiet, when to play, when to potty, and when to go on walks…and to be honest, we loved her bossiness. As she got older, she became so gentle and loving and would allow us to spoon her from behind for hours.

She was taken from us so suddenly and unexpectedly and our hearts ache all the time, but we are so thankful to have been graced with her leading our family. We still feel her presence all around us in the house, especially when we sing ‘her’ song…which is to the tune of Buddy Holly’s “Peggy Sue”.
